I’ll keep this week short. I’ve kinda taken a breather since I’ve been on the move these past couple of weeks. I’ve been working on some freelance projects that have taken up a lot of my time too.
In Rosalie news, she’s about to start walking. Leanne picked up a free baby walker, and Rosalie loves it. She will walk with it until she hits a wall and then calls us using her grunt to help her turn it around. We’ll also spend some time and send her back and forth between us.
She’s also learned to “trick” us into walking with her by holding her hands. She’ll crawl over to us, get up on her knees with her arms out saying she wants up. Right after we pick her up, she’ll squirm to turn herself around to be put down on the ground again. In that process, she’ll grab hold of your fingers as you’re setting her down, place her feet on the floor, and want you to walk with her.
Rosalie also knows that standing on her own is a pretty good feat. She pulls herself up onto the coffee table, slowly raises her arms in the air with a big smile and a giggle, and turns her body to face one of us. She’s able to hold herself steady for about 10 seconds now. She’ll try to take a step but usually loses her balance. But yesterday she did that and instead of turning her body, she shuffled her feet to face me, and still maintained control. She’ll be walking soon!
Today, Friday the 15th is my birthday. 44. Gah. We’re heading down to Louisville, Kentucky, to see one of the baseball greats from when I was a kid watching baseball. Ryne Sandberg. The Louisville Slugger Museum is honoring him. A while back I got an ad for this event, I showed it to Leanne and she asked if I wanted that to be my birthday present. Maybe next week’s post will be all about that experience. No idea what it’ll be like.
With that, I’ll leave this as this week’s post. I still have some posts in my mind that I’ll need to spend more time on. Like all the things that’s specifically happened to me in 2024. Also need to figure out how to monetize this site somehow. Google Ads has rejected me for the time being. But once I figure that out, I’m going to place a few ads. I promise they won’t be intrusive. I’ll also be writing a post that I hope will help couples who are trying to figure out how to travel on a train with a young one. There just wasn’t much out there when I was looking. Look for those things to come. Thank you for continuing to read and visit this site!
